About the Author
Brenda Ethridge Ferguson was born in Dallas but grew up on a livestock ranch in Mills County, TX, where she and her two brothers were raised among cows, sheep, goats, and the thousands of turkeys they ranged in the summertime. She married an Army officer, taught at secondary and college levels, was a librarian/library coordinator in public schools, and wrote book reviews, stories, and articles before her Ranch Girl book series was published. When her husband retired, Brenda and family came back to her roots where generations of her parents’ extended families had farmed and ranched, practiced their faith, cultivated the fine art of prolific conversation, and spun tales. Brenda has three published books and the fourth has been accepted for publication. It will likely be out in 2027. Brenda and her husband, who have two sons, two daughters-in law and three perfect grandchildren, continue to live with their cows and rescue cats on their Central Texas ranch.
Brenda is a member of The Society of Children’s Book Writer’s and Illustrators (SCBWI), the Writer’s League of Texas (WLT), and Western Writers of America (WWA).
