It has been over a month since I have posted on my blog. I used to write four or five blog posts per month, and I hope to get back to doing that before long. I want to continue my Literary Texas series at some time. I love doing it, but the time involved in all the research and reading can be prohibitive because I keep getting myself involved in too much. I love being involved but can spread myself a little thin.
So far this summer, I have had my three wonderful grandchildren visit (no greater joy), have attended two extensive writing conferences, have gone to a great family reunion, and have had a rather extensive sick spell—virus or allergies or both—and some dental work done. Needless to say, the pleasures of summer so far have been mixed, and I am, therefore, so behind on the writing I want to do. On the other hand, I have been selected as a Featured Author at The Texas Word Wrangler Festival in Giddings, Texas. The annual Festival will take place at the Giddings Public Library and Cultural Center on Friday, September 27 (9 a.m.— 5 p.m.) and Saturday, September 28 (9 a.m.—2 p.m.). The Thursday before the festival begins authors will visit local schools throughout the area and attend a reception that evening. I am thrilled to have been selected for my book Ranch Girl and the Orphan Lamb Adventure and wanted to share. I may just happen to mention this again before September 27. If you are anywhere near Giddings, stop in for the festivities. I understand that there will be a drawing in which one fortunate attendee will win $500. I will be selling and signing copies at the festival, but you can also order copies online by going to Book Table (choose from this website menu). Book Table includes buttons for several of the bookstores that handle my book.
Thank you for humoring me and letting me share my good news. I get to be a part of the children’s story time next Tuesday at the Jennie Trent Dew Library in Goldthwaite, TX. It’s at 10 a.m. Stop in if you happen to be around. After all, if we are lucky, we are always children at heart.
Happy Reading.
