Yesterday, February 24, 2026, Arcadia/Pelican released the third book in my Ranch Girl series, Ranch Girl and the Plan. In this book, Toby Greely’s family faces a bleak Christmas because of his father’s serious illness. Kelsi, Ampara, and Toby devise a plan called Operation Merry Greely Christmas to brighten the holiday, and it is a wonderful plan—until things begin to go wrong. With themes concerning friendship, cooperation, determination, empathy, family, and joy, the story focuses on the positive and possible.
I, of course, am excited for my latest “child” to skip out into the world. At least, I hope my little one skips, and jumps, and sings. We will see. I have loved writing the story and am reminded of the William Wordsworth quote “Fill your paper with breathings of your heart.” I hope I have done so, but most of all, I hope kids find it fun and a bit thought-provoking.
